“A village and a people of peace”

HM Bangue Ngando, the first Chief of Bonangando settled in the current area with the families who followed him in the first part of the 19th century. This was part of the expansionist policy of the Akwa at the northern edge of the Canton on the borders of the brotherly Bassa and Bakoko peoples who were then in conflict. The Bonangando had established a reputation as a people of peace and since then there has been no conflict in this area. Many customary chiefs have continuously assumed their role in Bonangando. The main activities of the time were fishing and agriculture. Our emblem animal is the Caiman.

With his team, they made his long customary reign their priority, to bring together all the children of the village and to successfully consolidate a strong traditional, territorial and administrative structure.
